As one of the most passionate, arguably the most passionate, derby in Spain, it’s incredible to see it fall on the last day of the season. This season, Real Betis are guaranteed to finish ahead of their more illustrious neighbours. Can they celebrate that with a derby win?
Home News
Fresh off what has been a truly amazing season, Real Betis are back. The only thing that makes this game a bit challenging is the sheer volume of injuries. Zouhair Feddal, Dani Gimenez, Junior Firpo, Antonio Adan and Andres Guardado will all miss out here. That’s a real kick in the teeth to squad depth, and could make putting out a full team a little more challenging than some might have expected.
However, they should be able to get Tonny Sanabria back in the side, looking to capitalize on what has been a wonderful season personally.
Away News
The away side are only missing Jesus Navas and Lionel Carole. Other than that, they are more or less full-strength for this one. Sandro, yet to score in the white of Sevilla, will likely get another chance up-top. If he misses out, expect Wissam Ben Yedder to get a chance.
Joaquin Caparros is set for what is likely his final derby in charge of Sevilla; we expect him to have his side fired up for this one. Miguel Layun, scorer against Real Madrid in midweek, will likely continue on at full-back, with Pablo Sarabia likely the one ahead of him.
Verdict
When it comes to dealing with a derby, it’s likely that Betis have more fire in their team. They have been up for the big games this year, and will likely catch a Sevilla side desperate to end the season. We expect a full-blooded derby with a Verdiblanco win come the end of the night.
