With Manchester City set to enter the transfer market for a revolution of their squad, some names are also being linked with the exit door. One player who is heavily linked with an exit from Manchester is Eric Garcia. The young Spaniard, who came through the FC Barcelona academy, looks set to depart for a fee of around £30m.
Reports in Spain suggest the youngster is desperate to make the move to Barcelona, and would relish the return home. With Barcelona on the lookout for a young defender who can play on the left-hand side of defence, replacing Samuel Umtiti most likely, he would fit the bill perfectly for Barca.
However, City are not keen to sell and it will be down to the player to try and encourage the move if possible. While Barcelona might be keen to make the move happen, too, funds could prove troublesome. At £30m for a young player, it could be a stretch too far for Barcelona if they have other positions in ind. City, though, are known to be keen to keep the player though, if pushed, they will open the door to a sale.
Garcia has been a semi-regular in the 2019-20 season, and could play against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. For Barcelona, though, the return of a homegrown star who fills a key squad position would make ample sense. The trouble is, can they afford the deal?
